Guest at the German Pavilion: Hanseatic Energy Hub at GASTECH 2022

• Lively exchange on LNG market expected at German pavilion

• Development of LNG terminal Stade continues to progress

Stade / Milan - Where are the global LNG and gas markets heading? This question will take center stage when the industry meets at GASTECH in Milan from 5 to 8 September 2022. The Hanseatic Energy Hub team will accompany the exchange on site and provide information about the development of the LNG terminal Stade at its own booth in the German pavilion (booth 15C44).

Currently, the EU Commission has confirmed the exemption from regulation by the German Federal Network Agency for the LNG terminal. At the same time, after the completion of the Binding Open Season, Hanseatic Energy Hub (HEH) has started individual marketing of the remaining capacity in accordance with the allocation rules. Planning for the future port is also progressing in Stade. The federal government will provide 100 million euros in financing for the planned jetty. The Stade site will also be the site of one of the FSRUs chartered by the federal government to deal with the gas crisis, which HEH will operate.

"Stade is developing step by step. Together with our partners, we are becoming a central building block for more energy security in Germany," explains Danielle Stoves, Commercial Director Hanseatic Energy Hub. "We are looking forward to the exchange at GASTECH."

About HEH

The Hanseatic Energy Hub (HEH) is a future flexible terminal for liquefied natural gases at the Stade industrial site. The independent hub secures and diversifies Germany´s import needs for affordable energy. In the initial expansion stage, a zero-emission LNG terminal is set to go into operation from 2026, with infrastructure also approved for bio-LNG and SNG. The planned regasification capacity is 13.3 bcm/a, with a send-out capacity of 21.7 GW. With the development of new climate-neutral energy sources, the hub will also facilitate the import of hydrogen-based energy carriers. HEH shareholders are the Buss Group, Fluxys and Partners Group (on behalf of their clients), as well as Dow. https://www.hanseatic-energy-hub.de/en/
