Hanseatic Energy Hub Appoints New Chairman Following Planned Succession

Stade/Germany, 8 June 2026 - Hanseatic Energy Hub (HEH), the land-based LNG terminal project at the Stade industrial site, has appointed Jürgen Nowicki as chairman of its advisory board. He succeeds Dominique Venet, who has played a pivotal role in the project's development since its early stages in 2019 and guided it through to Final Investment Decision in 2024. Venet, who turns 70 this year, will step down from the role. Drawing on decades of international LNG and energy infrastructure experience, he helped shape HEH's strategic direction and will remain closely associated with the project and Partners Group, the majority shareholder, as Senior Advisor.

On behalf of the shareholders, Carsten König of Partners Group thanked Venet for his contribution: "Dominique has been a cornerstone of this project from day one. His deep industry expertise and commitment have been decisive in bringing HEH to where it stands today."

With Jürgen Nowicki, Hanseatic Energy Hub appoints an experienced executive as construction of the privately financed LNG terminal progresses towards commissioning. From 2020 to 2025, Nowicki served as CEO of Linde Engineering and Executive Vice President of Linde, one of the world's leading industrial gas and engineering companies. Prior to that, as CFO, he was responsible for the commercial management of Linde Engineering and other international companies within the group for many years. His career included several years in the United States and the Czech Republic, where he was responsible for finance, strategy and corporate development. While still a student, Nowicki gained entrepreneurial experience as co-owner of a technology company in Karlsruhe. He holds a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (TU Karlsruhe).

About HEH

Hanseatic Energy Hub (HEH) is a future-flexible terminal for liquefied natural gases at the Stade industrial site. The independent hub secures and diversifies Germany's import needs for affordable energy. In the initial expansion phase, a zero-emission LNG terminal is set to go into operation from 2029, with infrastructure also approved for bio-LNG and SNG. The planned regasification capacity is 13.3 billion m³/a, with a send-out capacity of 21.7 GWh/h. With the development of new climate-neutral energy sources, the hub will also facilitate the import of hydrogen-based energy carriers. HEH shareholders are Partners Group (on behalf of their clients), Buss Group and Enagás as well as Dow.
